PUBLIC NOTICE: Jackson County Continuum of Care – July 26, 2017

Please consider this notification by the Jackson County Continuum of Care (MI-517) that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 2017 Continuum of Care Program Application is available. Eligible organizations can apply for Continuum of Care Program Funding through the esnaps system. Information on registration and application is available at https://www.hudexchange.info/e-snaps/. In addition to renewal funding, new permanent housing bonus funding in the amount of $49,089 is available. Information on the use of these funds can be found in the Continuum of Care Notice of Funding Availability at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/ya9bax7g   All parties applying for funding through this competition must submit their application to the Continuum of Care through the esnaps system by 5 p.m. on August 22, 2017. The Quality Committee will review these applications at their regularly scheduled meeting on August 24, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Jackson Housing Commission building and provide recommended ranking to the full Continuum of Care.

Approval of applicants for funding will be made at the Continuum of Care meeting to be held on September 12, 2017, at 10 a.m. at disAbility Connections, 409 Lindon Ave, Jackson. All applicants will be notified of the status of their application, in writing, no later than September 13, 2017. As the lead agency, Community Action Agency will post on its website, www.caajlh.org, all parts of the Jackson County Continuum of Care Consolidated application by the application deadline of September 28, 2017.


 

 

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: For Mental Health Services for the Period September 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018- (POSTED 6/15/17)

This Request for Proposal (RFP) is to contract for mental health services for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2018 for the Children’s Programs.  The purpose of this RFP is to obtain the services of a mental health professional, certified or licensed by a regulatory authority of a state or other political subdivision of the United States, and having knowledge of and experience in serving young children and their families, hereinafter referred to as the “Bidder” to perform services for the Community Action Agency in Jackson and Hillsdale counties.

CSBG Public Notice FY 2017

The Community Action Agency will accept public comments as required by the Michigan Department of Human Services CSBG State Plan for FY 2017. Public comments will be accepted on the CSBG FY 2017 proposed plan from September 12, 2016 to September 26, 2016.

the Plan Summary Is As Follows: A Total Of $608,934 of Csbg Funds Is Planned To Be Utilized In The Jackson, Lenawee And Hillsdale Counties For The General Purpose(s) Of Education , Community Development, Housing, Economic Self-sufficiency, To Meet The Needs Of The Low-income Community Of These Counties Who Meet Eligibility Requirements And Would Benefit From Our Services. Services Are Targeted To Low Income Persons.

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS: Jackson County Continuum of Care             August 15, 2016

Community Action Agency (CAA) as the fiduciary for the Jackson County Continuum of Care has been awarded $26,080 in Planning Grant funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to facilitate planning activities for the operations of the Jackson County Continuum of Care to ensure compliance with the HEARTH Act. Responsive bidders will have a working knowledge of Continuum of Care related programming and familiarity with Continuum of Care operations.

PUBLIC NOTICE: SEALED BIDS FOR NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION OF A SINGLE FAMILY HOME - May 11, 2016

Community Action Agency is receiving sealed bids as part of the City of Jackson HOME Program for the new construction at 511 S. Webster, Jackson MI. This is a Section 3 eligible activity and Section 3 business enterprises are encouraged to apply. Only contractors insured for public liability coverage and who have a current Residential Builders License will be considered.

Copies of plans/specification may also be obtained at Community Action Agency, 1214 Greenwood Avenue, Jackson MI 49203 between 8 am and 5 pm beginning Friday, May 13th.

A mandatory bidders meeting will be held on Monday, May 23rd at 9 a.m. at CAA.

Bid packets will be accepted until 4 p.m. on June 13, 2016.

Section 3 Certification Application HOME


HUD Section 3:  Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, is a legislative directive for providing preference in new employment, training and contracting opportunities that are generated by HUD-funded projects to low and very low-income local residents (regardless of race or gender). Section 3 requirements also provide contracting preferences to local businesses that substantially employ low and very low-income residents of the local community. Section 3 requirements apply to HUD funding provided by Community Action Agency.
