Community Action Agency Responds to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

UPDATE---March 20, 2020

In alignment with the State of Emergency to contain COVID-10, Community Action Agency facilities in Jackson, Adrian and Hillsdale will be closed to the public beginning Monday, March 23rd. Our staff will be working remotely to ensure that we are able to be responsive to the needs in our communities.

You can still reach our staff by calling our office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Community Action Agency is taking the health of the individuals and families we serve and our staff seriously.

  Here are some of the measures affecting the ways which will impact our clients we serve:

  • We have cancelled scheduled client classes and rescheduling in the future. This includes Homebuyer Education, Getting Ahead, Financial Stability
  • Head Start classes will be closed as part of the K-12 school closing that will be in effect March 16-April 5.
  • Client Transports and Home Visits
  • Current WIC clients appointments are being rescheduled to later dates in April.
  • Permanent Supportive Housing/Supportive Services Only/Rapid Re-housing/SSVF:   
  • YouthBuild will be closed March 16-April 5.
  • VITA: Operations are currently suspended and will be rescheduled for After April 5th.
  • Early Head Start Playgroups will be cancelled during the March 16th-April 5th time frame.
  • Community Action Agency's Board Meeting scheduled for 3/26/2020 at 4:00 PM will be held virtually. Those interested in attending the meeting, please contact Dorcas Patterson at dpatterson@caajlh.org to receive a link to the Skype meeting.

We want you to be assured this is to help keep everyone safe during this challenging time. We are also asking those in need of services to PLEASE CALL OFFICES FIRST.
